I was so humbled to be asked by Harriet & Brent if I would shoot their wedding for them up in Port Douglas, my first destination wedding! Not only that but I got to be accompanied by my amazing second-shooter Vienna as well as the videographer, Will of Euphoria Films, who I have known since we were 13! So I knew from the get-go that we would work well together as a team.
Harriet & Brent are such a loving couple and a pleasure to photograph, their love for each other was evident in so many ways, I found myself getting rather emotional throughout the day and wiping away tears during their ceremony! They married in Port Douglas at St Mary’s by the Sea, gosh it was such a beautiful little chapel! Port Douglas was significant to them as this is where Brent proposed to Harriet, via the most creative cartoon video that he made for her!
Port Douglas has such a beautiful landscape, we got to shoot amongst the forest, on the abandoned railway, amongst the cane fields, and by the ocean with the beautiful mountainous backdrop… what more could you want?
The reception followed at Sugar Wharf, and my gosh what a beautiful spot this was! I still look at these images months on and feel warm and happy remembering how lovely their wedding day was.
